BADASS SUPERNATUREALS

Here is a short list  Black women who kick mucho ass in  film, comics and video games.  In keeping with the theme of the blog,  I'm only including Black women with natural hair. 


1. SIDNEY FROM THE FILM "BLACK BELT JONES"

It's been awhile since I saw this film but from what I can remember, Sidney(Gloria Hendry) was the karate chopping partner of Black Belt Jones(Jim Kelly).

I think Sidney's hair may have been pressed when the film started but near the end,  she let her little Afro flow.  Her punches and kicks were good but her favorite move seemed to be grabbing and hitting guys below the belt!!!

2.  NIOBE  FROM THE FILMS "THE MATRIX RELOADED", "THE MATIRX REVOLUTIONS"  AND THE VIDEO GAME "ENTER THE MATRIX."

Jada Pinkett Smith was the actress who played this gun toting, Bantu Knot rocking, rough and tumble rebel from Zion.

Although Niobe didn't get to do much fighting or shooting in the films,  she did get to star in her own video game. 

3. DARCI STERN  FROM THE VIDEO GAME "URBAN CHAOS"

	I picked Urban Chaos up for my PS1 many moons ago.  The star of the game is Darci Stern, a  dark skinned, well armed cop with Dreadlocks(with red, black and green beads even!).   Darci was somewhat like Lara Croft from the game Tomb Raider  but ten times better in my opinion.

Lara had no hands(fighting skills).  If an enemy touched her in the game, she would take damage.  She couldn't even pistol whip anybody.   Darci on the other hand had a superb knuckle game.  She had single and combination kicking and punching  attacks.  She had shoulder throws, wrist locks and foot sweeps.  She could use baseball bats and knives.

Lara could could drive vehicles but only on certain boards.  Darci could get a whip whenever she damn well pleased.  If there wasn't an available cruiser at the police station, she could "commandeer" a car "Grand Theft Auto" style.

4. MICHONNE FORM THE COMIC " THE WALKING DEAD"

 Move over Beatrix Kiddo, there is a new katana wielding killer in town!  To be honest, I have yet to read any of The Walking Dead comics.  But I've been to told by friends who have that  Michonne is one of the best characters in the series.

Imagine Uma Thurman's character from the movie Kill Bill except she's a sis with locs who kills zombies!  I'm a big fan of The Walking Dead television  series and I can't wait for her to make an appearance on the second season.

SHARON ALMEDA - AFRO BLUE

 

Sharon Almeda is a beautiful Supernatureal sis from the mid west.  I told her she reminded me of an actress who's name escaped me at the time of our photo shoot.  Not long after we parted, it came to me.  She favored a  younger, voluptuous version of the actress Victoria Dillard.   I asked Sharon why she wore her hair natural and   her response was simply, "why wouldn't I?"
